First things first, if you don’t have a privacy policy get one ASAP. They are easy to create and there are literally thousands online you can review to help craft one specific to your site and how you handle the customer data your visitors provide you.

If you have a privacy policy already, are you maximizing it for your visitors’ security and piece of mind?

There are several ways visitors use your privacy policy, and if you’re not catering to all of those needs, you could be losing out. For instance, did you know that a large portion of web surfers look for several items on a web site to gauge whether they can trust it or not? Some of these include privacy policy, terms of service, and an about page.

These pages are normally not included on scam and phishing web sites, because the low life’s that make these sites don’t bother to go the extra mile, which is all the more reason you should.

Privacy Policies also provide a subconscious feeling of security to your visitors, the truth is that most people never bother to read them, but knowing they exist gives your visitor an added level of comfort in doing business with your web site.  So make sure to have one, and use it wisely.
